The Most Important Lesson I've Learned In Life
The Most Important Lesson I've Learned In Life.
By Lena Leshey
We all come into this life to learn, and there are so many lessons I wish I learned before so that I could value and apply them. I also want my readers to learn lessons that they could need or use later in life. So, today I will be telling you about The Most Important Lesson I've Learned In Life, and how it changed me.
My uncle and I were sitting on the couch with two other people talking about how I didn't know how to ride a bike. My uncle says, "You really don't know how to ride a bike? I tell you what, if you get straight A's this quarter this summer I'll teach you how to ride a bike." My face lit up thinking of the two bikes parked in his garage, the perfect amount. But then I thought about how stressful this quarter was for me at the moment and started to doubt myself. I said, "Uncle... I can't." He looked over to me and said, "Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're always right." Even though I didn't know what he meant, I nodded and went on with my day.
I went home confused that day, what did he mean?
The next time I saw him I asked, "Uncle, what did you mean I'm always right?" He then said, "It's your mindset. If you think you can't, then your energy will bring you down and it's not gonna happen. But if you believe you can, then you'll strive for it and make it happen." I then understood. It was my mindset. Since I thought that I couldn't make it happen it was 10x more likely not to happen than if I fixed my mindset and just believed I could.
This time I went home and went straight to doing my homework so I could get good grades because I believed I could, and YOU should too. Let the negative thoughts fade away because you can do it, and don't let any bad energy stop you from believing that.
In conclusion, believe you can. I hope you apply this important lesson in your life because this mindset can help you reach amazing places in life.
Thank you. Comment what you thought about this and what you want to see next. Also, don't forget to share.
Hey Lena,
ReplyDeleteThis all looks excellent. The quote your uncle was referring to is from Henry Ford, in case you're interested. I thought I had heard that one before. Sounds like he's a wise man, you should listen to him. Keep it up! :)
Mr. Jenkins
Your uncle is right. We don't always realize we are getting in our own way, but once we understand the power of mindset, the world opens up for you. You keep saying you can, Lena! I'm cheering you on.
ReplyDeleteGreat lessons for everyone, keep that mindset and you will go places. Cheering you on
